    • In the case of the on-site coupling, the spread in frequencies of the allowed and forbidden ESR transitions between the hyperfine split levels that must be simultaneously excited to observe ESEEM is determined by a large on-site hyperfine constant (∼some hundred MHz for Mn). This makes the observation of ESEEM technically difficult due to a limited bandwidth of the microwave pulse.
