Feminist scholarship on pornography includes reflection on the Minneapolis civil rights ordinance, the first of its kind in the country, as a matter of course. It is most often raised in relation to its legal theory's potential impact on free speech. A crude measure, to be sure, but its inclusion, even in passing, is a good indication of the importance of the ordinance and its underlying theory to feminist discussions of pornography.
