    • A recent paper, states that "a solution of sodium dissolved in butan-1-ol" was used for reduction of acridone to acridan. This is clearly in error. Our reduction utilized dissolving metal (sodium) in butanol for the purpose achieving yields of 80 and 82% for acridan and 4-methylacridan respectively
