    • 4- that might have been bound by the resin through simple adsorption. Treatment with NaCl three times was sufficient for removal of loosely bound uranium species as checked by ICP-MS. After the beads were washed with distilled water (2 ml) thrice more, they were washed with 1 N aqueous HCl solution (2 ml). The amount of uranyl ion released by HCl treatment was measured by ICP-MS. All experiments were performed in duplicate.
