Normal spermatogenesis in a man with mutant luteinizing hormone
-
This is the first paper to demonstrate that normal spermatogeneis can occur in men despite severely depleted intratesticular testosterone concentrations, limited LHsignaling and a lack of pubertal development. The findings suggest that low level 'LH-independent' testosterone production can occur in humans and support essentially uncompromised spermatogenesis, similar to studies in the LH-receptor -/- mice
