    • Such an anti-Henbest epoxidation was also found to occur even with a free allylic OH to result in an epoxide anti to OH. This may be due to electronic effects by strongly electron withdrawing nature of the phenylsulfonyl group. This seems to be a general selectivity phenomenon, which will be further described elsewhere.
