    • HIV-1 disease-influencing effects associated with ZNRD1, HCP5 and HLA-C alleles are attributable mainly to either HLA-A10 or HLA-B*57 alleles
    • Careful modeling resulted in the dissection of these two tightly linked loci and provided evidence of unique contributions of each locus. Of note, the HCP5 locus was associated with progression and not delayed progression, contrary to previous report due to the strong correlation with the protective HLA-B locus
