25. This may understate the total number of training sites, as some business faculty are educated in closely allied schools of industrial engineering and economics. Some of these faculties regard themselves as being involved with the field of business, even if for the purposes of this study, we did not include them.

32. Average dropout rates around 50% are reported by the Carnegie survey of doctoral education in the USA, as a cause for great concern (Golde and Walker, 2006).
