    • Polymerization yields were calculated from potentiostatic electrodeposition experiments by dividing the charge recorded under the one electron oxidation wave of the polymerized Ir(iii) complex by the charge passed during the controlled potential electrolysis (0.5 mC) at 0.85 V and multiplying by 5.66 (2.33 electrons per pyrrole group plus 1 electron for the oxidation of Ir(iii) into Ir(iv)
