    • The huge XMLD anisotropy has been called (Refs.) magnetocrystalline anisotropy of the XMLD to emphasize that it is the anisotropy related to the crystallographic orientation of the magnetization vector and not to express that it is related to the spin-orbit interaction. As was explicitly demonstrated in the first paper discussing (Ref.) the huge XMLD anisotropy, the SO interaction of the 3d valence band gives only a very small contribution
