3 moiety. The same phenomenon has not been observed in all other amino alcohols of type 9. In some instances, e.g. 9e-f, only broadening of the more deshielded signals, were observed. Additionally, for compounds 9e-f the observed difference of chemical shifts is smaller. As the result, the low resolved spectra of both compounds showed only one, broad pseudo-singlet.

In the IR spectra, absorption bands related to the N-H and/or O-H stretching bonds could not be always found. Very likely, this effect results from strong inter- and intramolecular H-bonding in compounds 8.
