For systems that are not ergodic in this manner, e.g., certain small or stiff systems, the technique of Noś-Hoover chains (Ref.) provides a remedy. It is apparent that the systems analyzed in this work are well-behaved in this respect and hence Noś-Hoover chains are not applied
