    • For an excellent summary of the issues which were addressed at the PSA Conference in Manchester, see the contributions to the special edition on Britishness in Parliamentary Affairs, 63, 2010. The articles show how complex and diverse is the relationship between nationhood, statehood and citizenship throughout the devolved UK, but they also suggest that neither complexity nor diversity necessarily entail the victory of that great ideological simplifier, nationalism
