    • Internal conversion depends exponentially on the frequency of the highest molecular vibration according to the energy-gap law, which is known to be only very weakly temperature dependent (Refs.). In addition, the very similar vibrational modes in these series precludes associating the very different temperature dependencies of triplet diffusion to the temperature dependence of the internal conversion process. A similar argument applies to the radiative decay
