43. This can be seen as follows. The HEA only accepts electrons within an energy range of ΔE and must sequentially scan this range through W. The TOF simultaneously accepts electrons through the entire W, and thus is W/ΔE times more efficient. This simple comparison assumes a constant ΔE through W for the TOF; as ΔE is dependent on the flight energy, E, this is approximately valid for small ranges of W compared to E.
