    • The conversion of 1 into products is much slower than predicted by the observed rate constant in dilute solutions. This is due to the fact that under the conditions of the NMR experiments not all the reactant is in solution. Besides, at this high concentration it is likely that the hydrophobic Fenitrothion is aggregated.
