    • Our study of introducing a branched chain was started independently based of our own idea and has been focussing, from the very beginning, on application to solution-processable organic electronic devices.
    • Recently, Ziener et al. reported an effective synthetic way of a series of soluble long oligothiophenes up to undecamer with branched alkyl chains (2-octyldodecyl chains) at the α,ω-positions of the molecules, although their interest rather focussed on the development of a synthetic route, physical properties of the compounds such as aggregation in a solution, and liquid crystalline behavior.
