    • Typical experimental procedure. A solution of alkyne-functionalized dendron 1-D1 (0.1 mmol), (PPh3)2PdCl2 (2.5 mol%), CuI (1.5 mol%), and diisopropyl ethyl amine (3 equiv) in THF (1 mL) was stirred at 40 oC for the desired time until complete consumption of starting material as judged by TLC. After the usual workup, the residue was purified by flash column chromatography (hexane/ethyl acetate system) to give 2-G1. FAB spectra were obtained from Korea Basic Science Institute (KBSI) in Daegu. Spectral data for 2-G1: IR 2936, 2839, 1597, 1458, 1204, 1153, 1053 cm-1; 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) ( 3.80 (s, 12H), 4.25 (s, 4H), 4.55 (s, 4H), 6.40 (t, J=1.8 Hz, 2H), 6.51 (d, J=1.9 Hz, 4H); 13C NMR (125 MHz, CDCl3) ( 55.7, 58.0, 71.0, 72.2, 75.8, 100.6, 106.2, 139.8, 161.4; MS (FAB): m/z 410.90 [M+]; HRMS (FAB) Calcd for C24H26O6: 410.1729. Found: 411.1805 [M+ +H]. PDI: 1.01.
