    • Recent time-resolved electron-diffraction measurements of graphite by F. Carbone
    • Recent time-resolved electron-diffraction measurements of graphite by F. Carbone (Ref.) and R. K. Raman (Ref.) have revealed a photoinduced lattice contraction along the c axis. However, our pump fluence is approximately 100 times lower than in these studies, suggesting a frational lattice contraction of only ∼ 10-4 for our excitation conditions. We consequently do no expect that this contraction could produce a change in G -mode frequency comparable to the 1% shift that we observe.
