For 1.1'-trimethylene-bridged carba[3]ferrocenophanium salts, no such perturbations are observed and LMCT bands shift to lower energy. The effect of the three-carbon bridge in the electron absorption spectra is consistent with simple alkylation of the Cp ring and reflected in the moderate tilt angles (α≈9-14°) of such species.
