    • The DOF transcription factor OBP1 is involved in cell cycle regulation in Arabidopsis thaliana
    • In this article, OBP1 was identified as a stimulator of cell cycle entry by controlling the transcriptional activity of both genes involved in the G1-to-S and G2-to-M transitions. Also negative cell cycle regulators are controlled by OBP1, indicating the existence of negative feedback loop mechanisms in the process of cell cycle entry.

    • Arabidopsis ORC1 is a PHD-containing H3K4me3 effector that regulates transcription
    • The authors identified ORC1 as a transcriptional activator of specific cell cycle genes, operating through histone modification. ORC1 binds to H3K4me3 in promoter regions through a PHD domain that is specific for plant ORC1 proteins. As ORC1 is associated with gene silencing in yeast and human cells, differences in transcriptional regulation mechanisms between plants and other species are revealed.

    • CCS52A2 function obligatory for endocycle onset
    • This work illustrates that the atypical E2Fe/DEL1 TF negatively regulates the onset of the endocycle through transcriptional repression of the CCS52A2 gene that encodes a component of the anaphase-promoting complex, which degrades M-phase-specific cyclins. Moreover, this control mechanism is shown to be probably evolutionarily conserved.
