Fibrinogen, a well known protein from human plasma, was labelled with AlexaFluor® 647; glycophorin A, a transmembrane protein found in red blood cell membranes, labelled with AlexaFluor® 546 and Lectin MAA and PV-Man labelled with fluorescein. PV-Man refers to poly[N-p-vinylbenzyl-O-β- mannopyranosyl-(1-4)-D-gluconamide which is a polystyrene derivative carrying mannose and is known to interact with hematopoietic cells (see reference 14).
