    • Similar 1,4-rich polydienes of 2-(trialkoxysilyl)-1,3-butadienes possessing the bulky substituents have been obtained with various anionic initiators even in THF. However, in contrast to 2-alkyl-1,3-butadienes, the anionic polymerization of 2-(trialkoxysilyl)-1,3-butadienes proceeded regioselectively in the 1,4-addition mode because of the electron-withdrawing property of 2-substituted trialkoxysilyl groups
