    • The functional neuroanatomy of maternal love: Mother's response to infant's attachment behaviours
    • In this study, authors compared mothers' neural responses to their own children and other children in two different conditions (stress and play). Regardless of emotional condition, mothers have more pronounced right orbitofrontal cortex (rOFC), periaquaductal grey matter (PAG), anterior insula, dorsal ventrolateral putamen activation when viewing their own child compared with others'. In this study, activation in left OFC was correlated with the intensity of joyful and happy feelings when the mother was viewing their own child, whereas rOFC activation was associated with feeling of anxiety in the mother
