    • Assuming a ninefold coordination, Eu3+ (1.120) and Ca2+ (1.180) feature both a smaller ionic radius compared to La3+ (1.216) which is not the case for Sr2+ (1.310) and Ba2+ (1.470). The ninefold coordination is used rather than the ideal cubic twelvefold due to the slight distortion of the systems. Radii are obtained from 10.1107/S0567739476001551
