    • By taking formula weights of (Y0.79Ce0.01Gd0.20)2SiO5 = 314.26, (Y0.79Ce0.01Gd0.20)2O3 = 254.18 and SiO2 = 60.08 into consideration, the following equation can be written: 314.26 × (R(%)/100) = 254.18 + 60.08 × (RSi(%)/100), which leads to Eq. (2) [RSi(%) = 5.23 × R(%) - 423.05].
