    • At this point, it is important to distinguish intergroup aggression from crowd behaviour. While theories on crowd behaviour focus on the question of how people behave who are physically embedded in large groups, the focus for intergroup aggression (as distinguished from interpersonal aggression) is different. Within the scope of this chapter, the question is whether social identifications and the fact that a person acts in terms of his or her group membership rather than as an unique individual, have an impact on the quality and on the interpretation of aggressive interactions
