A meticulously carried out experiment on two hemianopic patients who underwent training using flicker stimuli. Long-term training improved residual visual function (as measured using flicker sensitivity) and magnetoencephalography measurements, but not with Goldmann perimetry. This demonstrates how functional imaging measures, which may turn out to be very useful in charting visual field rehabilitation, can identify improvements in nonstriate vision.
