    • This is a very interesting paper combining and demonstrating several self-assembly strategies: a nanoporous network is created using complexation of different carboxylic acids with iron atoms. • Controlling molecular assembly in two dimensions: the concentration dependence of thermally induced 2D aggregation of molecules on a metal surface
    • In this publication, the molecules under investigation are "activated" by annealing to 570 K. Only after this activation, the molecular species are able to form hydrogen bonding. Moreover, the observed self-assembled structures are coverage-dependent: upon increasing the coverage from 0.1 to 1 ML, three different molecular structures are formed.
