    • Note that the observed loop shift cannot be a result of the simple addition of the two hysteresis loops of the constituent layers (Co/Pt and Co) since the Co layer's contribution to the magnetization is nearly ten times larger in the region of interest. Moreover, if indeed the [Co/Pt] layer were contributing significantly to the in-plane hysteresis loop, we should see a significant shift of the loop along the vertical magnetization axis, whereas the loop is symmetrical in ±M.
