    • It is assumed that the nitrogen-bound complexes with l-cys and l-pen are monocationic complexes with thiolate and carboxyl groups while those with l-met and l-ala would be dicationic ones with a carboxyl group if they were formed. Such a difference in the positive charge can make a difference in extractability of the nitrogen-bound complexes.
