    • A surface generally has two-dimensional periodicity. In contrast, as for the surface system including adsorbate, admetal-layer, and substrate, the surface itself has a three-dimensional character attributable to the sub-surface region (selvedge) and an adsorbate overlayer. Therefore, nomenclature for describing such a surface system should be followed principally by Matrix or Woods notations (e.g, Bradshaw, A. M, Richardson, N. V. Pure Appl. Chem. 1996, 68, 457., In this paper, we use FexML/Pt(111) for reference to an Fe admetal-layer having x ML(monolayer) in thickness on the clean Pt(111) substrate and Ptynm/Fe1.0ML/Pt(111) for the y nm-thick Pt grown on the Fe1.0ML/Pt111
