In the estimations, the position of the 3d band edge, 3d, is taken to be at the energy of the X5 k -point, X5: μP (ρNi,Cu) - 3d ≈-0.21 eV and 1.57 eV, respectively; the exchange splitting in Ni is: X5 ↓ - X5 ↑ ≈0.82 eV.
