The gas-phase basicity reported in this paper (950.5 kJ·mol-1) has been determined from proton transfer equilibrium constant measurement at 338 K with dimethylcyclohexylamine as the reference base. Using for the latter a gas-phase basicity15,16 of 952.7 kJ·mol-1 and ΔpSguanidine, RT In 6, 14.9 J·mol-1·K-1, a proton affinity of 987.5 kJ·mol-1 is obtained for guanidine
