A SPARTAN conformational search by semiempirical calculation using AM1 basis set indicate that lowest energy conformation of (2,6-dichloro-4-methoxyphenyl)(2,4-dichlorophenyl)methoxy carbonyl moiety of 5b was well in agreement with that of X-ray structure of (2,6-dichloro-4-methoxyphenyl)(2,4-dichlorophenyl)methyl acetate.
