This study forms the latest part of the PhD research of F. Halkett, which addresses the ecological and genetic interactions between lineages of the aphid Rhopalosiphum padi differing in their investment in the sexual reproduction. F. Halkett now works on the ecology and the population genetics of forest fungal pathogens. J.-C. Simon and M. Plantegenest are population biologists interested in population genetics and evolutionary biology of aphids. J. Bonhomme is in charge of the rearing of aphid lineages and the reproductive phenotype assessment.
