    • A pulsed Q-switched Nd:YAG laser with λ = 1064 nm was used to generate a SHG signal from samples (which was prepared into a powder pellet with ca. 150 μm diameters and ca. 0.8 mm thickness under 300 MPa pressure). The backward scattered SHG light was collected using a spherical concave mirror and passed through a filter which transmits only 532 nm radiation. The SHG efficiencies of 1 and 2 were estimated according to the principle proposed by Kurtz and Perry [20].
