We have studied the electronic evolution of the Rb6 C60 compound as a function of pressure by first principles DFT calculations. We observed that the charge transfer from the Rb ions to C60 gradually decreases with pressure. More remarkably, an instability of the bcc lattice of Rb6 C60 was observed at high pressures and is accompanied by an abrupt decrease in the charge transfer;
