A systematic review of current experiences with the use of riuximmab, a monoclonal anti-CD20 antibody, showed an overall platelet response in 62% of adults with ITP and a mortality rate of 2.9%. The data showed that randomized controlled trials are urgently needed, and the indiscriminate use of the drug should be avoided.
