    • For τ<0.2 ps the FWM from the QDs is covered by nonresonant FWM of the GaAs substrate, and is also modified by the finite rise time of the photon echo. In order to determine the correct initial amplitude, we have fitted the experimental data for 0.2 ps<τ<0.8 ps by a Gaussian centered at τ=0. Using a series of other bell-shaped fitting functions we have verified that essentially the same behaviors are obtained for the results in Figs. 3 and 4.
