This is the most recent assessment of the global burden of maternal and child undernutrition and presents data on attributable deaths and disability adjusted life years (DALYs). Taking into account joint distributions and effects of these risk factors the total attributable burden is 35% of deaths in children less than 5 years of age and 11% of the total disease burden.
