    • The ee value was determined by chiral HPLC analysis of 1 (Ar = Ph). Separation conditions: (S,S)-Whelk-01 column 4.6 mm x 250 mm (thermostatted column 0-1°C); elution with a mixture of hexane/ethanol 99/1; flow rate 1 mL/min; retention time 28 min for (R)-1 and 33 min for (S)-1 enantiomer
