    • With this approach the steric exclusion is modeled more accurately than in the case when the rod is approximated by a row of fixed spheres. On the other hand, the most time-taking operation of soft-spheres MD, finding the overlap, is reduced to minimization of the quadratic form (finding the closest point between two segments).
