    • Although some POM catalysts contain Mo and V elements (N. Mizuno, K. Kamata, K. Yamaguchi, Surface and Nanomolecular Catalysis, 2006, p. 463, our catalyst is strikingly different to them. The Mo-V-O phase can survive purification with a 0.4 mol/L oxalic acid solution (pH ≈0.9) at 333 K. In contrast, the POM is stabilized in a solution of pH 3-6. See: L. E. Briand, G. T. Baronetti, H.
