    • The larger modification of the magneto-optic spectra at higher energies for Co/Pt as compared to Co/Au multilayers is attributed, in our opinion, to the larger induced magnetic moment of Pt as compared to Au, as shown in this work, as well as to differences in the band structure. In addition, a shift of the second peak from 3.8 eV of pure Co to 2.9 eV in Au/Co ML is most likely due to the overlap between the plasma edge feature (optical enhancement effect) of Au at 2.5 eV and the second peak of Co resulting in a much broader peak at 2.9 eV.
