    • We have prepared the [ReH(bpy)(CO)3] complex by substituting carbonyl ligands with bpy in the pentacarbonyl derivative [ReH(CO)5, A mer arrangement of the three CO ligands is suggested by the presence of one band of medium intensity (2032 cm-1) and two strong ones (1976 and 1912 cm-1) in the νCO region,[18] while the presence of the hydrido ligand is confirmed by the sharp singlet at δ, 13.02 ppm observed in the 1H NMR spectrum. The previously reported species [ReH(bpy)(CO)3][6] was prepared from the [Re(bpy)(CO)3-H2O, cation and showed a fac geometry with the hydrido signal surprisingly being found at δ, 1.54 ppm in the 1H NMR spectrum. Such a high frequency assignment for the hydrido is questionable
