    • Temporal regulation of the expression locus of homeostatic plasticity
    • This study helps to resolve a controversy surrounding the locus of change during synaptic homeostasis in central neurons. Some studies have reported that purely postsynaptic changes underlie synaptic homeostasis, whereas others (using similar preparations) have reported a mixture of presynaptic and postsynaptic changes. This paper shows that both neocortical and hippocampal neurons switch from a purely postsynaptic to a combined postsynaptic and presynaptic response with time in culture.
