For a doctoral course in evaluation of information services taught by Dr. Peter Hernon, the author reviewed the library Web sites of selected institutions in Pennsylvania, including any publicly accessible publications or documentation having to do with information literacy practices and programs. The content of the sites was compared to the Middle States Commission's framework, and individual practices were aligned with each of the six competency categories to see how well the framework reflected actual practices in the institutions studied.
