    • -4 M solution of spiropyrans in either acetone or dichloromethane. Solutions were exposed to 312 nm light from a 15 W UV source (BDH, VL215LM) at a distance of 1 cm at 25 °C for various durations prior to the acquisition of UV-vis spectra using a Pye-Unicam UV1 spectrophotometer.
