Polystyrene and asphaltene micelles within blends with a bitumen of an SBS block copolymer and styrene and butadiene homopolymers
-
Blends of an asphalt with SBS are studied by progressive addition of one or two polystyrene and poly(cis-butadiene) homopolymers. The results support the idea of a network, created by the polystyrene-rich spherical microphases, which remain effective even when the polystyrene microphases have melted. Moreover, in particular conditions, the presence of mesophase based on polybutadiene and asphaltenes is considered.
